THE HISTORY LAB @ Keyano College

As part of our ongoing partnership with Keyano College, the WBMMC maintains a history lab / archival space on the Clearwater Campus of Keyano College. In 2026 we moved into our new space on the Clearwater Campus. Through our partnership we maintain high end archival scanners, digitalization equipment and storage equipment on campus.  Students from the University Studies History courses at Keyano College work alongside museum staff to assess, digitalize and preserve documents, pictures and artifacts that tell important stories.  The lab includes collections from both world wars, the cold war, the experiences of Canadian service members in the ISAF in Afghanistan, the 2016 Fort McMurray Wildfire and other local documents. For access to the archives you can fill out a request below.

For access to archival materials, please connect with our curator. These materials include books, transcripts, photos, and media. Use the email link below or email directly at info@wbmm.ca

Mobilize Archiving the North – Partnership with Keyano College @ the History Lab!

History students at Keyano College have been hard at work, alongside museum staff, digitalizing our archival materials. These archival collections include historical documents, photos, stories and small artifacts like medals and patches. This long and arduous work is essential to properly preserve and share these materials for future generations.  We want to thank Keyano College and NSERC’s Mobilize Grant for helping set up and equip our new History Lab!
