Dale Bendfeld – President and Founder

Dale Bendfeld served for 40 years in uniform with the Canadian Army and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. He has served as an infantry, airborne, ranger and special service force officer in command, combat, leadership, and training positions. His military service has taken him across the country, throughout Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Afghanistan.
During his policing career he was posted throughout Canada in international, major urban, rural, and isolated Indigenous postings. He has worked from street policing up through leading the security planning of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games.
Following his uniformed career he has been involved in municipal government running emergency services and emergency management for the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo and the City of St Albert.
Kevin Rodgers M.A. B.Ed. B.A.

Kevin Rodgers is our Curator and Educational Coordinator. Kevin believes strongly in our mission and has a passion for history and military studies. Connecting members of our community with its past is a passion for Kevin. Kevin is an aviation enthusiast and specializes in military aviation past and present. Kevin’s research has focused on events in Eastern Europe both past and present. When not working with the museum, Kevin is also an Instructor for History and Social Studies at our local Keyano College. Prior to moving to Fort McMurray Kevin taught high school History in Manitoba and Ontario.
Geoffrey Jones, M.A., B.A.

Geoffrey Jones is our Collections Specialist. He has a passion for preservation of relics of the past to ensure future generations remember and understand what came before.
Geoffrey (or Geoff) specializes in military history both ancient and modern, with a focus on strategic and logistical concerns, and has written a thesis on naval logistics in World War II. He has spent time working in historic house museums in Salem, MA, USA, with UNB’s Art Centre on proper storage and accession of collection items, and as a history and science teacher in the United States.
Here in Fort McMurray, aside from his work with the Military Museum of the RMWB, Geoffrey also currently works at the Oil Sands Discovery Centre as an Interpreter.
